Get Spotted

Did you know that you can win great stuff just by putting our window sticker on your car?

We drive around Dryden looking for window stickers. If we spot yours, you could instantly win free stuff! We'll stop you and give away great TC stuff or gift cards.

Inspired by the Wall Drug bumper stickers, we thought we'd add a Dryden twist. Take a picture of your car or truck with our window sticker in an unusual place and upload it to our web site! Get your sticker for FREE the next time you visit the TC in Dryden!

Kids Eat Free at the TC

We love kids at the TC.

We know its hard getting out when you have kids. Its expensive. Its a hassle. Its tiring.

We make it easier.

We have coloring and kids activity sheets. We have special kids menu items that kids just love. And we have the treasure chest for kids after their meal!

Now - KIDS EAT FREE!

Monday is community awareness day and kids are a big part of our great community. So, on Monday nights, kids eat free. Any child aged 12 or younger can eat free at the TC on Monday night after 5 with a parent or guardian. One adult meal - one free kids meal.

5 big changes at the TC

I was at the dentist’s office today. A lady there was surprised to hear I am the owner of the TC. She said she had not been there in years. I invited her to come and visit us! What’s changed – she said!

1. There’s a new look! We’ve painted and freshened up the place. We’ve added music. We’ve added big screen TV’s and Buzztime trivia. We've introduced WIFI internet access. We’ve dimmed the lights for dinner and added candles. We’ve upgraded the rooms.

2. There’s a new feel! It’s all about YOU – our customer! We’ve changed the staff – and kept the best! We care about what you say and are working hard to give you a great experience on every visit!

3. There’s a new menu! The old favourites are still here, and we’ve added some great family recipes. There’s something for everyone and we’ll customize it to what you want!

4. There’s a new attitude! Its about quality. The quality of the food. The quality of the service. The quality of the experience. Spend some quality time at the TC with us!

5. We want you back! To us, its not about a single visit. Its about creating a relationship with you, our customer. We want you back. We’re part of the community. We’re working hard to make the TC part of your life in Dryden. Dryden offers a quality of life that’s second to none. The same should be said about your experience at the TC.

Come and see what’s changed since your last visit and tell us what you think! Your opinion matters to us!

My 6 reasons to eat at the TC

As a followup to my 6 reasons why eating out is better than cooking at home, here is my list of reasons to head to the TC for dinner! We know you have lots of restaurant choices. Here’s why I think you should choose us!

1. The daily specials. If you’re up for something totally unpredictable then stop by and see what the chefs are cooking up. They have fun cooking and playing with our lunch specials, dinner specials and new features. So what’s on tonight may just be a sneak peek into what’s coming on our menu 6 months from now!

2. The fabulous menu. We hear our menu has great variety – something for everyone! We’re committed to making it the same way every time you try it – just plain good!

3. Home style cooking. We buy the freshest ingredients and make much of what we sell right here at the restaurant. Like our French fries - we peel, slice, prepare and cook 1000 potatoes every week. We hand crack 700 eggs each week for our breakfast and lunch specials. Be bake tarts, muffin and pies. Our meat loaf is from the old family recipe! And what about Dorothy’s soup – made every week by Dorothy, herself!

4. Things to do! Besides great home style cooking and meeting with your friends, there’s lots to do at the TC! You can watch the big game on the TV screens, or play Buzztime against your friends or test them at the table with the trivia cards. We have crayons and coloring for the kids. Take part in the lively discussions. You’ll feel right at home here.

5. A great experience. Always good food is just the start. We know its about the total experience. We’ll treat you like royalty and make sure your needs are not only looked after, but anticipated. Expect the best and get it at the TC!

6. My opinion matters. Everyone working at the TC is expected to listen with all their senses to what you – our customer – are telling us. We take action on every spoken work – and many unspoken clues. We talk about what happened on every shift, and – more importantly – take action to get better every day!

So now its your turn – why do you choose to eat at the TC!

My 6 Reasons Why Eating Out is Better than Cooking

I must admit that I have a vested interest in one side of this argument, being an owner of a booming restaurant business. But it wasn't always this way. In fact, long before I even thought about becoming an entrepreneur, as a family we enjoyed eating out. I got to thinking why that is. Perhaps you can add to my list of reasons? Here’s my top 6

1. No grocery shopping - Grocery stores purposely change their stores around and make things hard to find so that people have to search. That takes a huge amount of time. The most expensive items are always at eye level. Aside from meeting cute girls when I was dating, the grocery experience has always annoyed me. And I find that I always fall into their trap and buy more than I intended because I see something that looks good.

2. Relaxing - Since part of the restaurant experience is service, there is no need to spend time slaving over a hot stove. You can sit back and take it easy, telling stories with your friends and family - and who doesn't like that?

3. Restaurants always taste better - many restaurants have a professional chef working to cook you up great food. Even if you choose a more casual restaurant, the cook will be experienced and likely talented. This almost always makes the food taste better. Sorry Mom.

4. Eating out is convenient - Whether you work, you're a student, or you're a stay at home parent, life is busy. Eating out allows you to get what you want exactly when you want it. Cooking takes a lot of time, and unfortunately people today do not have a lot of time.

5. Experience - The experience is great. Going out to eat can help stop your kids from fighting or give you a nice night out with your friends. Eating good food is fun!

6. No dishes to wash! This is my all time favourite reason to eat out. I hate cleaning up. The servers just carry the dishes away after I’m done and, unless I forget my wallet, I never have to worry about the mess.

So, I’m challenging you to add to the list, or provide your top items for why you think eating at home is better – lets talk about this!

Community Fundraiser

Welcome to 2012! We're excited this year to offer community groups the opportunity to partner with us in raising funds for worthwhile community projects.

As a new year begins, many community groups are beginning to plan their fundraising for the 2012 year. The Trans Canada Restaurant will offer a limited number of opportunities to partner with us for fundraising. We limit the participating groups to ensure the local groups gain the maximum amount from their fundraising effort!

The chart above outlines the potential that a community group can raise by partnering with us on a discount coupon promotion. The coupons are provided by the Trans Canada Restaurant and can be sold in the community by the group. The coupons are redeemed at the restaurant and they never expire! What a great way to raise funds while promoting shopping locally!

We have many other fundraising ideas and look forward to partnering with you on your fundraising effort!

Contact Norm or Tina at the Trans Canada today! Lets talk about how we can support your success!

We're looking for the Best People

Perhaps you've heard rumours about changes at the TC. While not everything you hear is true, we are making changes - and our customers are telling us things are getting better. One thing's for sure - we're getting busier. While not every night is all fun and laughter, we are creating a place where people feel at home. A place where people come for a good time with friends and family. Isn't it about time you came aboard?

You have a passion for customer service excellence, an outgoing personality and a positive attitude. While you're good at what you do, you have a desire to learn more and grow. You're responsible, reliable and committed to excellence.

We offer a competitive wage including a profit sharing plan. Some positions qualify for bonus incentives. We provide the opportunity to grow and have fun in a team environment while delivering excellent customer value. The management team cares about people and it shows. Our owners are present, and passionate about success - yours and the team's.

Come and talk about joining us and how you can contribute to this winning team.

As of this posting, we are focusing our search on cooks, chef's and kitchen assistants. However, we have vacancies in all roles. Talk to us about what you are passionate about and how we can support each other!
